Dean and co-driver Paul Fallon spent the day at the Rotorua Car Club Rally Sprint making changes and trying 'settings' on the car's suspension, getting it handling 100% for the next round. "It was an awesome day testing and I am really happy with the cars handling and power" said Sumner after his first few runs. "Because we're leading the championship we'll be first car on the road at Nelson, and having the opportunity to be first car on the road today, made for an ideal testing ground for us to learn more about the best set up for Nelson. The road we tested on today was similar in many ways to those in Nelson being quite open and fast with long corners, and the surface for the first few passes had quite a bit of gravel on it, so it was an ideal stage for getting ourselves ready." Sumner leads by just two points for the overall championship heading to Nelson on the 21-22 August 2010. He has done well in the past at Nelson where he won his first NZRC event in 2006, followed by 2nd Overall in 2007. To follow live results of Rally Nelson click here
